It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olof Kallstrom from an aneurysm. Olof was born in Byske, Sweden and grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. He studied photography at the Stockholm Film and Photo School and came to the USA to work as a professional photographer. His photos have been published in Business Week, National Geographic Magazine, Minnesota Geographic Society and Minneapolis Magazine.

Olof was a pioneer in video and helped establish the Video Center at the public TV station in Minneapolis. In 1981, he returned to Sweden to work for several Swedish publications. He then came back to the USA and continued his freelance photography business working with clients such as Chevron Oil and AT&T. In 1986, he decided to switch careers and relocate to Los Angeles to become a Film Editor. He studied with Bernie Balmuth at UCLA. Olof worked on over 30 films including film trailers, sound editing and FX during his 25 years in the business. Some of his films included The Informant!, Jersey Girl, Richard III, Tall Tale, Island Prey and Hero. He made many good friends on production and really enjoyed the challenges of the work.
